Renewing Hope

Renewing Hope

We go through life thinking if we will be rewarded for the good deeds we do. It’s amazing how our human nature wants to be recognized for doing good. It is written in the Word, “I know your deeds.  Behold, I have put before you an open door, which no man can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My Word, and have not denied My name” (Revelation 3:8) This is great, that Father, YHWH, and our Lord, Jesus Christ know our deeds. Yet, there is something that happens and we begin to lose hope.

Although we know the word of God, we know that Jesus is in our hearts, yet, why do we lose hope. The thing is, you know what it is. As we go through this life, it is easy to focus on what we can’t do, instead of finding what we actually can do.

I want to talk to you about how to restore your hope.

The secret of success or failure depends on

  1. Who you listen to. We tend to listen to too many opinions. But there is only one or two that counts. That is why so often Jesus cautioned His disciples to pay attention.  Are you listening to Him, or are you confused by the demand of this world? Luke 11:28 NIV,  He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
  • Opinionated persons tend to discourage you from looking to your heavenly Father, who has a plan for your life.   If you listen to people alone, they will give you all kinds of reasons why you can’t do anything. This is why we need to pray.
  • You have to be open-minded. We can allow everybody’s opinions get to you. You are bright and smart… is your heart in the right place? Romans 2:6-8, God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
  • God wants you to listen to Him today, and not to the opinions of others. No matter what your circumstances are, and no matter how many times you have fallen down — He wants you to get up with renewed hope. The door to the throne is opened before you that no one can shut, but it is up to you to take the first step and walk through it. Revelation 3:8 “I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close…

We lose our hope because our faith is weak. In Matthew 7:7 KJV it states, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. When you pray, keep believing and in its due season your prayer will be answered.

We can get discouraged, but don’t let it overwhelm you as to where it steals your peace, your joy, and your faith. We are only human, but know that it is written in 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Don’t allow the devil to eat your faith.

Closing:

Be encouraged, your faith can only fade if you allow it too. Nobody can take it from you… only you can let it go. Remain faithful in what God has for you. John 1:12-15 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:14 If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. So, you see it’s important to not only ask for what you want but to do as He has commanded you to do. Don’t lose your hope, pray and seek your heavenly father.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  Isaiah 40:28-31

I pray you are encouraged and begin to reinforce your hope by prayer. Strength also comes by hearing the Word of God. Find yourself a local church, get involved, meet people of the same faith and as you do you will find that your hope is renewed.
