Analyzing your thoughts

Analyzing your thoughts

Receiving thoughts from nowhere can be dangerous.

You could be washing clothes, the dishes, the car, or just cooking dinner, etc., but you are in a position where you are usually alone and you are thinking of situations or things that you need to take care of. However, the bad thing about this is that sometimes, you will get a thought from nowhere – and it usually has to do about something that already took place. Something from the past either days, weeks, or months ago and it gets you upset. You go with the thought and you begin to recreate the incident and by the time you realize you are upset and angry, then it brings on an argument with the other person because you still have unsaid words to be told.

According to the Google dictionary, the word “analyzing” means to examine methodically and in detail the constitution or structure of (something, especially information), typically for purposes of explanation and interpretation: “we need to analyze our results more clearly.” And the synonyms are: examine, inspect, survey, scan, study, scrutinize,  look over, peruse…

Now, analyzing our thought process can be a lifesaver. Just think, you weren’t thinking of anything about the subject matter; you were just thinking about something else. Right?   So, how is it possible that this thought just pops into your mind, when your thinking of something else?  It’s like if the thought just fell from the sky and hit your head.

Let me explain; we are taking a spiritual aspect on this topic because it is spiritual.  Nothing, I mean nothing comes by chance.  We are all spiritual beings – some of us become aware of our spiritual side quicker than others and some never get it.   I hope you are one of those that receive spiritual direction and can understand what the Spirit of the Lord has to say. He that has ears to hear, let them hear.  When a thought comes into your mind, while you are thinking about something else – what just happened?   The Word of God states that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy:

John 10:10 (KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

Okay, so you received the thought, you even thought, “What? Why did I even think that?”  You might question it because it seems odd or maybe you blew it off, but many of you run with the thought. Then,  wowzers – you find yourself angry or upset.  I smell me the devil…doing His dirty work.  Then you are distressed, angry, maybe even crying at this point, and possibly confronting the other person

When a person gets the thought from nowhere, 99.9% of the time it is negative.  It was something that you didn’t like, agreed with or something that hurt you. Right?   Well…

that was a spiritual impartation from a demonic influence bringing division upon you and your family.

The family unit is the most important thing in the Christians’ life.  If we can not have a happy united family, how can we be effective witnessing tools for the Lord?  Especially, when you and your spouse are on a brink of getting divorced over something that really has no true value, but oh, so much pain it has caused with all the bickering and fighting.  An issue that is not really important, but under the demonic influence – it’s an explosion.   Yes, whether you like it or not – IT WAS A SPIRITUAL ATTACK!

Analyze your thought process. Why did I get the thought?  I, myself didn’t bring it into my mind to think about it.   I wasn’t even thinking about it.  Needless to say, when you received this thought it moved on your pain, past memories, and current anger.   So, how can you overcome such a demonic spiritual attack like that?  The word of God states in:

2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV) that we are to cast down negative imaginations and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of God.

It’s that easy, but, you got to take control of your mind and cast those thoughts into captivity.  But, first, let’s analyze and then follow steps on #5:

1.      Question the faultiness of the thought. Is it making you upset?

2.      Is it something you have already discussed or dealt with?

3.      Is it something that you already forgave?

4.  If the answer is yes, then it’s the enemy working to bring on a fight, to bring disunity on a matter that has already resolved or being worked on.

5.      Then you need to take action:

  •  Resist the thought (Devil) because he comes to kill, steal and destroy. John 10:10
  •  Rebuke the enemy because you have already put the subject matter at rest. It’s settled and you forgave one another. James 4:7
  • Cast down any negative imagination because you have already forgiven. 2 Corinthians 10:5
  • Pray for the peace of the Holy Spirit to rest upon you and your loved ones.   John 16:13

I pray this has brought some understanding to you – pray for enlightenment from the Holy Spirit to help you catch the enemy when he is moving in your mind to bring disunity upon you, your loved ones and your friends.

God bless you, my friends and brothers and sister’s in Christ may God’s love be abundant in you … 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
