Faith, It's both positive and negative.

Time has shown me that Faith, which is a wonderful gift can work both ways for us. Negative faith works against us, while positive Faith works for us.  In other words, you sow and reap exactly what you believe.   Proverbs 23:7 states, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”  

It takes time to change the way we think and believe. People think mostly in the negative… we are negative about so many things in our lives, that it affects every thought and action we perform. We can are negative about ourselves, our lives, our jobs, and our families, and etc… We have to “Trust in the Lord with all (our) your hearts, and lean not on (our) your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverb 3:5-6).

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2).

God wants you well and prosperous, but faith must be built to receive.  To receive faith, we must remove deception and beliefs that are hindering us. We can be talking positive words, which can motivate us for a while, but to renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and to receive faith from the true source of Life is different… 

There are two kinds of faith; one is negative faith and one is positive faith.  To doubt God’s credibility or His promise, your faith is deviously working against you.  God calls your doubt sin, as doubt is the opposite of faith!   He says in Romans, “whatever is not from faith is sin” Romans 14:23.

“…Without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). So, God’s Word teaches that “you believe He is” and that you believe that He will reward you  for “diligently seeking after Him.” Then, God knows you are serious about finding Him and being intimate with Him.

Negative Faith is the carnal mind.

The Mind:  Thinking about the past, our lack of, our mistakes, our families, things we didn’t do.  We need to change the way we think:   Ephesians 4:23, states, “And to be renewed in the spirit of your minds.” The enemy is very clever; he works with deception big time. The worst part of the deception is, that you think you believe right, when in reality, you believe a lie, thinking its truth, so you are doomed to failure, instead of gaining victory over the problem.   Only the truth of God’s Word can set you free.  Galatians 6:7 …. for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

If your faith is the type of faith that lives by what you see, then when you see something bad, it goes into your mind causing fear and doubt.   

The Tongue, it reflects what is in your mind and heart.   

The Tongue: When we let loose with our mouth and with what we are thinking, these words are powerful and, if used the wrong way, can hurt you and others. Scripture tells us: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”(Proverbs 18:21).  In other words, the outcome of your life is a byproduct of what you speak, whether good or bad.  

  • James 3:6-10 the tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.  
  • Romans 12:2  Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

To improve, not only do you need God, but you need to learn to think good, better… The practice is needed.   In Philippians 4:8, NIV: “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.

Positive faith is trusting your heavenly Father.

God has made provision for every believer. The word “provision” in the Webster Dictionary means “The action of providing or supplying something for use.”

Provision is “Faith” to live in victory and abundance. 

God has given every believer the opportunity to have Victory. God gave us the power and authority to live victorious on this earth. This is given to every believer, believing, receiving, confessing, and doing the word of God is Victory in Christ. Do we lack Faith?  Ask! Luke 17:5-7 (The Apostles Asked for More Faith)   Then the apostles said to the Lord, “Give us more faith.”  The Lord said, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Pull yourself up by the roots, and plant yourself in the sea!’ and it would obey you.

“Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; They walk in His ways” (Psalm 119:2-3). “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 4:29).

Victory is a gift, it is the outcome of faith in God.         

The word of God states, “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 

 It is not the man, but his birth from God, which conquers. 1 John 5:4

 Because, as  1 John 4:4 states, “ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.”  God is telling us that if faith is established in us that this faith IS the victory. It is our victory, yes, but really, it is GOD’S victory in us.  In other words, the existence of faith in us is evidence of His victory in us.  “This is the victory….our faith…in God.”  To trust Him and that He will help us.

  •  Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing (comes) by the Word of God.” But again, read this carefully – it doesn’t say that if we hear it is proof that we have faith. No. It says that faith COMES by hearing the Word of God.
  • The conclusion is that the Word of God not only opens our ears so that we can hear, but the Word of God is that, which carries the faith and imparts it into us as we hear and take in the Word.

Often, we think that faith is the key to getting something from God. But this way of thinking is backward. Faith is actually the evidence that God is within us; our trust in Him brings out the evidence of faith, that He lives in us.

If we allow God is able to establish His Word and His Truth in our hearts, then faith will emerge.

God must initiate by revealing His Word, by revealing the truth. But when God speaks it is always possible to hear. The Word itself that He speaks is light, the revelation opens our ears and eyes. Always, otherwise, we have a God who reveals truth but leaves it up to us to hear with open ears. No. The Word itself opens ears. It is as if we have all been living in total darkness and God turns on the light. At that point, we can see enough to turn to God for more. Therefore, God absolutely must initiate by revealing the truth and opening our ears and eyes. At this point, however, we have the choice to hear or refuse to hear.

If we hear, then that Word enters in and faith comes out…. . And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
